I was putting up a rain gutter on a womans garage and she comes out of the garage with a box. I noticed there were some firecrackers in it. She was going to throw it in the trash so I asked if I could have the firecrackers. Help yourself, she says. I put the box in my truck and went on working.
I get home and look in the box and there, among the black cats are 10 M-80’s. Yes, the real deal M-80’s. I split them with her son cause he is a friend of mine and got me the work. They are very old and I don’t know if they will even explode. I’ll find out here in a few days.

Those look unstable. Protip: extend the fuses somehow. Maybe use the joining fuse from one of the Black Cat strings (if they are in strings still)?

Unstable. Sorta like me when I get my hands on explosives. Good point though. I have some cannon fuse I can use.

My experience with old fireworks like that is: A big Yes - yes they will work fine. But ummm needless to say, be careful.
I had a box of old fireworks that my father and his brothers somehow left in a place where I found it at about age 13, leftover from when THEY were that age. We had a LOT of fun with that stuff, M80’s and the like. Those things are no joke.

Put them in a thick gague metal trach can one at a time, throw some kind of flaming substance in them....RUN! The resulting noise will summon the gods....or the police...totally worth it.

I’ll second this. I had a couple blow up in my hand when I was younger (two in one night, I was not the brightest kid). Old dry fuses burn so fast you won’t even have time to think about throwing it.

2nd this, those fuses look like they’ll burn way to quickly and you could lose a some fingers, a hand or both.

I wish I could get these in Canada...

Time to go America all over the neighborhood

I know. I have not seen an M-80 in quite a few years. Safety glasses and a long firestarter lighter.

that’s better than I’ve ever done... I’d light it with a zippo and throw it in water! Or put it inside a coffee can upside down, or something like that. If the bottom didn’t blow out (put a rock on it) it would go 50+ feet up in the air. Or find a broken appliance, or old remote controlled vehicle of some kind? You gotta put it IN something, or you’re wasting it!

Nice. Watch your extremities when you do go about lighting them off.
I made a "film" using m-100's in my youth ad the pyrotechnics. Bury them in a little bit of sand and put an action figure in front of them and they make quite the nice little explosion.

Please be careful.

Definitely will. The first one is to see if and what they will do. Then, let the fun begin.

They will be lit with a nice long fireplace lighter and I’ll wear safety glasses/goggles.

I will. I’m too old to take chances with my extremities and hearing.

You can’t buy them anywhere in the US that I know of now. These are quite old.
